Dr. Doo-Wop and Ms. Shoo-Bop, KFB DJs, currently have a three-hour Saturday morning “Oldies” show from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Their music reflects a variety of genres, with an emphasis on group Harmony/Doo-Wop, early Rhythm and Blues, Soul, and a touch of Motown. The music played is from the 1950’s through the early 1970’s, accentuating the “Roots” of Rock ‘n’ Roll music from the 50s. Both up-tempo songs (including shag) and ballads are featured during the three-hour show. The ballads and up-tempo tunes reflect the classic songs as played by the late, legendary DJs Porky Chedwick, Terry Lee, Mad Mike, as well as a touch of more recent R&B and soul.

The Library show tries to minimize talk, though it is recognized that various attributes of both songs and artists are important to communicate to the listeners. Dr. Doo-Wop and Ms. Shoo-Bop continue to use CDs, vinyl albums and 45 r.p.m. records as they try to “keep the 45s alive”. They recognize that many vinyl tunes contain hits and great songs on both sides of a record! An attempt is also made to maximize the variety of songs while minimizing the repetitive playing of the same songs from week to week. Listeners are encouraged to call into the studio during the show or e-mail either Dr. Doo Wop or Ms. Shoo-Bop at,or

Finally, an attempt is made to minimize so-called “pop” songs on the show, for there are other commercial stations which emphasize top-40 music, the Billboard Charts, and music that has been played repeatedly over the years. Preserving the music and historical information of 50s-70s Oldies music is part of the overall mission of Dr. Doo-Wop and Ms. Shoo-Bop. So let’s all “Doo-Wop–Shoo-Bop” as they continue to enjoy the early days of Rock ‘n’ Roll and keep the 45s alive!!!
